Movements One, Two and Three
Over seven days (25th- 31st August 2016), the project space has been populated by a shifting set of collaborations and compromises, settling in three documented configurations. An ongoing material dialogue is reflected here, both domestic and of the studio. Objects and surfaces traverse both 'work' and 'life' settings, breaking down a need for separation or balance.
Underpinning each iteration is a timber framework and a monochromatic palette informed by the monotype process both artists have adopted as a fast and direct mode of production. Constructed from discarded lightweight furniture, the impermanence and mobility of the material has been mirrored in the exhibition making and serves as a backdrop to its multiplicity of playful outcomes.
